In 1945, Leighton Academy was known for being one of the most prestigious boarding schools in the United States. Teens were sent from all over the country to this great school, with hopes of becoming politicians, college professors, lawyers, and other such successful people. But in one fell swoop, everything changed.
On an unusually balmy October night, seven new students arrived at Leighton. After that, students started disappearing. One night, the Headmistress turned up dead, drained of blood with two puncture marks in her neck. With the Headmistress gone, the seven friends took control of the school without alerting the rest of the staff, and used the school as a feeding ground.
After a few months, the legendary Order of Venator, an elite group dedicated to destroying all vampires, took notice to the school. After weeks of watching the school, they discovered which students were responsible for the killings, and used their numbers to drive the seven vampires out of the Academy. Because of the mysterious deaths and sudden lack of leadership, the school was immediately shut down, leaving its halls to remain empty, and leaving the clan of vampires that once ruled them to flee for their lives across the world.
Over the next few years, the vampires found a safe haven in Alaska, where they could feed on small villages, and the lack of light let them roam freely during most hours of the day. The Order eventually found them though, and killed the brains behind the Clan, Alistair. His lover, Lenore, killed most of the Venator in a rage, and again the six began to flee across the world, looking for a suitable place to call home.
Now, the year 2008, the Clan ventured back to Leighton. With the scandalous news of it's mysterious closure decades old, they decided to re-open Leighton Academy, promising to be less reckless this time.
Registration for Leighton Academy is now open. The halls are filled with rich New Yorkers and children of celebrities, as well as the six students who feed off of them, or worse, make them into newborn vampires. Everyone assumes that they're safe within the walls of this prestigious school, when will they learn the truth? But more importantly, will they learn it too late?
